We love how much love and support our football fans bring to NYP during Seahawks season. If you haven’t been before, we thought you might want to know what all the hype is about. Here are the top 5 reasons why you might want to come early and join us on Sunday for Game Day.
1. Bottomless Mimosas and Weekend brunch. Who doesn't love having excuse to sip on champagne while watching football? Or enjoying a Sunday breakfast of beer and pancakes?
2. Food for the football fan. We have it all…hand tossed Pepperoni Pizzas, mouthwatering Bacon Cheddar Burgers, or BBQ Wings. Plus, taps and more taps of delicious, local, craft beer.
3. TV’s and sound all through the bar and restaurant. The sound is always on during Seahawks game, of course. Bringing your family? No problem! All food and drink specials are available in the whole place, bar and restaurant. (But it will be loud…see #5)
4. The specials!! We have been offering Pies, Pints, and Passes specials all season during all NFL and college football games. This means on top of all day happy hour, you will find a rotating $3 pint, $2 Touchdown shots every time the Seahawks score, and a special $8 pizza. Did we mention it is also Happy Hour ALL DAY on Sundays?!?
5. The most fun with the best fans around. Warning – it will not be quiet at NYP. The energy is amazing and it is loud. There is also a lot of high-fiving, “Go Hawks” cheers, and general sports crazed shenanigans. We all wish we could be at the stadium but trust us, watching the game with a room full of friends at NYP is almost just as good.
You may have noticed that the name of our restaurant has been changed. As of 2015, we are no longer New York Pizza and Bar. Now we proudly call ourselves NYP Bar and Grill.
Why the change, you ask?
The last year has seen some great new things for NYP. While we started with a focus on New York-style pizza - and we still love our pizzas! - we’ve definitely expanded our offerings since then, and we want our name to reflect that. With a wide selection of fresh salads, gourmet burgers, and a new focus on local brews, we felt that NYP Bar and Grill just suited us a little better. We hope you think so too!
New Natural Ingredients, Same Classic Flavor
The change to NYP Bar and Grill felt like the perfect time to bring in local vendors and highlight their natural and honest products. We strongly believe in listening to our customers and incorporating your feedback, and as a result, we’ve completely revamped our menu, offerings, and ingredients.
You will now see almost all of our meat products coming from within Washington State, featuring local companies like Hempler’s, Zoe’s Meats, and Isernios’s. To cover our bread and baked good needs, we brought in Avenue Bread and Macrina Bakery - two outstanding local food producers. We’re also crazy about the local craft beer movement, and keep our taps filled almost exclusively with beers from the Pacific Northwest.
To celebrate and launch our recent makeover, we’ve decided to offer you 2 things for the month of January that every bar and grill should have…STEAK NIGHT and WING NIGHT.
Mondays are 50¢ Wing Night
Now you can kick off the week right with our traditional or boneless wings at this amazing price all day, every Monday. At NYP, we take our burgers seriously. That means we accept no shortcuts when it comes to bringing you the best, most delicious gourmet burger we can, using the very best ingredients available to us. Here are a few of our secrets – don’t tell anyone!
It Starts With The Beef
No great gourmet burger can be made without outstanding ground beef. We source ours from the Columbia Valley right here in Washington, and it’s all 100% natural, antibiotic and hormone free. We cook your burger the way you want it, which means anything from rare to well done!
Hand Smashed Patties
You’d be amazed at the difference a hand-formed patty can make. We bring our beef in fresh (never frozen!), and we press it in-house by hand. This keeps the juices in the meat – unlike the enormous, conveyor-belt-meets-hydraulic-press approach you’ll find at your typical chain restaurant. Pressing each patty by hand ensures your burger stays every bit as delicious as you deserve.
Aged Cheese & Local Bacon
When it comes to quality, our toppings are second to none. We use aged Tillamook cheeses, fresh out of Western Oregon, that are delicious and rich in flavor. Our bacon arrives every week from Hempler’s Bacon in Ferndale, Washington, hand-picked for their outstanding all-natural product.
Just like our burgers, our sauces are serious business. We make over a dozen sauces entirely from scratch, but it’s our signature burger sauce that you’ll find on the majority of our burgers. I would tell you what’s in it, but it’s classified (just kidding – but it is a family secret!).
At most burger joints, it’s the fries that can make or break the meal. We think our burgers are outstanding enough to be enjoyed all by themselves – but really, why risk missing out? We’ve been serving our signature fries for 5 years now. They are always bottomless, and our signature house made sauces are always free.
